Here in Colorado.

Well, it's been quite some time since I last blogged. I think now that Koz is back I'm not on my computer a ton really, because when he gets off work I just want to spend time with him. Well, I'm not in Michigan anymore and a number of things has happen since my last blog post which was way the back in April I think. I'll just recap a few things that have happen, starting with May I guess. Well in May I was packing alot and getting ready to move to Colorado and to see Koz. Koz came back from his deployment May 10, I mainly remember the day because it's my parents anniversary too. My mom drove out here with me with my car. This was the second road trip to Colorado with my mom, she's the best I think. Anyways, he came home and of course seeing my husband again after 6 months was amazing. I sure did miss him. Well, we found our apartment the first day we went apartment hunting, which was a few days after he'd be back. We had looked at a few online so we had an idea. But when we saw this one and it was in our price range, we loved it. Well I guess I did because it had two bedrooms mainly. So yes, we enjoy our apartment because it's in a nice location and the apartment themselves are great. They're called Apartment Resorts if that tells you anything, ha. Anyways, back to May. We got settled in and soon June was here. The middle of June was when Koz had his leave which was like a month long this time. So, we headed back to Michigan for a little while to see family and friends. It was a crazy week trying to fit in everything and everyone but it worked out pretty well. It was nice seeing family and friends, made me realize how much I missed them and spending time with them when I don't get to be near to them. Well, we had the Trailblazer back in Michigan still so we drove that out here, and when we got back to Colorado we hear and saw the wild fire that had been going on. We were only here for a few days because we had plan tickets to Ireland (which is when July started as well). Anyways, the wild fire was unreal and just across the highway from us. We could see the glow from our apartment even. So it was a little hard to leave Colorado with that all going on, but we were also excited about Ireland. Hmm, as for Ireland I think I might save that for another post, because there's a lot to tell and I don't think a few sentences would do it justice. Anyways, as for the rest of July. Koz started going back to work and I'm not really sure what else happen that month, ha. Yeah, let me go on to August, ha. At the end of August beginning of September, was when the real fun started. My friends Abbey and Taylor came out to visit me :-) I was excited to have some Michigan friends here for a while even if it wasn't for that long. WE had lots of laughs and giggles the whole time they were here. I'm so glad they made the trip out here. Also, this month Koz bought me my first snowboard. That's can go with exciting news I guess, ha. More exciting for Koz I think. So yeah, that pretty much brings us to now. Not much is going on, I'm going home in a week actually to see some friends and family, but mainly for Meredith and Jaron's wedding. I'm excited to go home for a little and be back in Michigan. I'm starting to really like Colorado with the mountains here and my husband. But I really miss my family and friends alot. Well, that's all I can think for now. I'm getting very side tracked with my itunes playing, ha. So, until my my next post, which I promise will be soon then my last, good bye.

Thoughts and Time.

I find myself listening to Jack Johnson late some nights before I'm about ready to fall asleep. And also on rainy days like today. I blame my husband for this and for getting me to like Jack Jackson at times, ha. The sound of rain and Jacks Johnson goes together if you ask me. But anyways, I've been going through clothes this past week and trying to sort through the ones I actually wear, the ones that I say I wear even though I haven't in weeks, the ones that are koz's but some how managed to find their way mixed in with mine, and of course the ones I'm getting rid of. All this going through things though has got be anxious for summer and more so when I'll be moving to Colorado in a couple months. I bought some storage containers for some of our wedding stuff to go in and perhaps some our clothes, weird how there will be so much change in just a couple of months. Yeah, trying to figure out how that'll all work and seeing what will happen when it gets closer will be interesting. But a good interesting for sure :-) Besides, I can't wait to see that husband of mine too, it's be quite a while and we still have a couple more months to go. Anyways on a completely different note. Everyone and their options on politics is getting annoying and I'm not one to normally voice my thoughts on politics. But some people have been making there opinions clear, so instead of commenting on someone's fb about it I've decided to just blog about it, ha. How I see it for the most part in politics in general I guess, is if you're talking to someone who is strong opinionated on there view is the right way and only way. Make your comments but in the end you're just going to have to agree to disagree. I mean you can try to convince them but they're just going to feel as strongly as you do, for their view of course. And yes cutting health care of all things you'd cut for the men and women that put their life on the line for you day in and day out doesn't make sense at all. Yes times are hard all around, people are taking cuts and losing jobs. But the military of all things, the people that's job is to protect you and your family. I think they deserve being able to go to the doctor when they've been injured and even sometimes fighting for you freedom to even be in a country that has health care for it's citizens. But anyways, elections aren't that far away so who knows what will even happen with those. And yeah i'm probably a little bias considering my husband in deployed right now doing something that so many of us couldn't do or are willing to do. So yeah I think he deserves some health care is something were to happen to him. Anyways, I'm done with my rant now, ha. So yeah it's very windy outside right now and kinda scary if you ask me, and also it's very late so i'm going to head of to bed. Night.

Life Must Go On- Alter Bridge

Hmm, yet another late night. But It's been a rather good night and day. Friends hanging out that haven't seen each other in what's been a while. Talked briefly to a best friend in Kentucky as well as skyping with one that's in Afghanistan. And listening to some Alter Bridge to end the night. A pretty good note to end on if you ask me. Well, it's rather late and I don't have much to stay for right now, or put my thoughts together for a meaningful blog that would make sense too, ha. Anyways, this song especially the lyrics mainly, makes me think of alot of things and people. Yeah I know it's kinda depressing but still. My favorite part though... "Cause the sun always sets. The moon always falls. It feels like the end. Just pay no mind at all. And keep rolling." I like those lines alot because it's so true. Things will happen in life, things we don't understand or like, but it'll be alright. Anyways, yes it's late, ha, so on that note, night.

Sitting alone in the cold of the night
You’re trying to find what you need to survive
You're so afraid
You can’t go on
Left in the silence that tears at your heart
It only reminds you how broken you are
You lost your way
But hope is not gone

Cause the sun always sets
The moon always falls
It feels like the end
Just pay no mind at all
And keep rolling
Rolling
Life must go on

Do you remember and long for the past
When love was eternal and joy seemed to last
Yesterday
Forever is gone

Cause the sun always sets
The moon always falls
It feels like the end
Just pay no mind at all
And keep rolling
Rolling
Life must go on
It must go on

We have our misfortunes
The darkest of days
But we must endure
And keep strong
Just look to the morning
The promise awaits
And know that this life must go on

And the sun always sets
The moon always falls
It feels like the end
Just pay no mind at all
And keep rolling
Rolling
Life must go on

And the sun always sets
The moon always falls
It feels like the end
Just pay no mind at all
And keep rolling
Keep rolling
Life must go on
It must go on

Life must go on
Life must go on
(When you feel you're awake)
So you keep holding on
Keep holding on
(We all have our mistakes)
Life must go on
Life must go on
So you keep holding on
Keep holding on

Fun in the snow with my Bowman girls.

Just playing in some snow with my nieces this afternoon. It snowed this morning or late last night and my nieces came over and really wanted to go sledding. How could I refuse these cute girls, haha. Anyways, we had some fun in the snow and I got to take a few pictures of them before the battery died. Yeah just having some fun with those crazy Bowman girls in the snow:-)

Elise getting reading to go down the hill.

Elise trying to figure out why my hat is a penguin, haha.

Ariel loves it when she gets pushed on the swings.

Yeah, like I said, crazy Bowman girl ;-)

Do You Remember-Jack Johnson.

So, I realized I haven't blogged in a while. Probably because I've been up north for about a week and my other reason is because I've been reading The Hunger Games trilogy, ha. I've now finished the trilogy though. Tonight I finished reading the third and final book of the Trilogy. I liked the first two books better then the last one though. It seems to depressing for my taste, but then again the second one had too much love story going on I think, ha. So that leaves the first one as my favorite, of course the first book is always usually the best. But anyways, yes I’m done with The Hunger Games trilogy sadly. Now I’ll just have to wait for the first movie to come out in March though :-) So, I was up north like I said, with Brit some and Sarah and Dan some too. Brit and I took maternity pictures this past Saturday of Bridgette. It was nice taking some pictures and hanging out with some friends. I really do enjoy taking pictures and my dad is very nice to let me borrow his camera so I can do so. I love taking pictures of kids though more I think. Anyways, that's another blog post for another day I think. Well, these past couple months have been a little rough in ways. I miss my husband, is the just of it I guess. And I can't wait for days where I can just talk to him whenever I want for more than just a couple minutes every couple of days. I miss him but I love him so. Also, today marks the day two years since my boyfriend at the time was leaving to go to Georgia for basic and I was saying goodbye to him in Lansing. Heartbroken after only having him for four months then having to let him go. Then around the same time a year later, he became my fiancĂ©. He was stationed in Colorado though, and yet again we were apart. However texting and phone calls more nights before we went to sleep helped. After even just a year he had grown and changed into a different man. More independent and more confident in who he was and what he was doing with his life. But another year when by and that’s where we are today. He’s even farther away in Afghanistan, we only talk once in a while and on fb chat. But this time, I get to call him my husband and still my best friend. He’s changed even more this past year with more life experiences under his belt, realizing what he wants more and going for it, still independent, stronger, and confident in what he does…or at least those are a few things that I see when I look at him now. Wow two years. I’m so proud of him and the man he is and is becoming. So different then the boy that enlisted two years ago, but still that boy at times. He can’t fool me and I see him for that dork he is still, ha. However, he’s not the only one who has changed these past couple years, I have too. I’m definitely a stronger girl then I was two years ago when I said goodbye to him. I mean yeah I have my days but overall, I think I am. Besides I’m an army wife now, who would have thought, ha. Not me that’s for sure, but I’m not complaining that here I am. Married to my best friend. A man I’m so honored to call my husband and my soldier. Well, I’m getting quite tired seeing that it’s almost 4am, ha. So, yeah I’m just going to end here. Night.

2011-What a Year.

2011-Well 2011 is over now but it was a good year. So much happen and I do think I lived my year to the fullest after I’ve recapped on it. It was sad to see 2011 end but I’m really looking forward to 2012. Koz comes home and we finally get to start a life, together. Yeah I can’t wait to be in the same time zone again, ha. And many other adventure I'm sure are in store. So yeah I say bring on 2012 ;-)

January-A beginning of a new year, 2011. And who knew what a year it would be and what would happen all in this year. Koz was home on leave for Christmas a month before which he decided to ask me to marry him on a snowy cold day in Ludington. He made me the happiest girl when he got done on one knee a few days before Christmas. In the beginning of January he had to go back to Colorado and I started school again. However, the end of January marked Koz’s first whole year in the Army. I am so proud of the man he is and the man he is becoming with each new day and experiences. Yes, the year was starting off to a good start I think.

February-Hmm, February. Honestly, I can’t remember that much that happened in February, ha. I think I went up to Sarah and Dan’s and hung out there for a little while. Other than that, I think this is when Kelsey and I started becoming awesome friends :-) Who knew that a girl from JCS and LCS could be such good of friends. We’ve had some fun times together and good talks throughout the year.I love Kelsey and I’m very thankful for our friendship and I don’t know how I’d get through the year without her as one of my friends…hmm now that I think about it we might of become good friends in March, lol. Anyways, I also remember in February was when I realized I wanted to become a Elementary teacher :-) However, I’m not sure how long this will take because of life, but I feel like this what God wants me to do. I realized the summer before how much I loved working with kids, especially fourth grades. It just took me a while to realize that’s what I should do with my life. I can’t wait to start that journey.

March-My second nephew, Isaac Judah Haines was born on St. Patrick’s day! I love this little guy and It’s been fun seeing him grow up throughout the year. I was also able to take some pictures of Isaac when he was born that was a lot of fun. Asher was excited for a baby brother and Sarah was excited for a baby that looked a little more like her and still had her blue eyes when he got a little older, ha. Also, Koz surprised me in an email, which I thought was a video he made from him going to the X-games, he had bought me a plane ticket to Colorado to come see him during my Spring Break. I was little more excited that it was a ticket instead of a video. I loved going to see him for Spring Break because I hadn’t seen him since Christmas. We had a good time even though he had to work the week I was there kinda, but it was still great to see my fiancĂ©e. And spending some time in Colorado was pretty fun too and I think this is when I decided I really liked Colorado and couldn’t wait to move out there with Koz someday.

April-April came and of course fun on a road trip up north to hang out with the Miller house sounded like a good idea to me and Brit, to take a break from life. We had a lot of fun with Courtney that weekend, and Britany had a lot of fun taking pictures of Court and I. Also in April the third Bowman girl was born :-) Sophie Lael was born on Good Friday. We were happy to welcome Sophie into our family and our family keeps growing and growing. As well as Sophie, ha, she’s bigger then Isaac but she’s still such a cutie. Also, Kelsey, Britany, and I all had a fun slushie day in the park. It was a nice break from school and the business. And it was about time Kelsey and Bowman had some pictures together ;-) And at the end of April and beginning of May, Koz came home for a couple weeks before he was going to be leaving on his year long deployment to Afghanistan. It was nice to have him home for a couple weeks though and I felt blessed that I was able to see him a few times throughout the months before he had to leave.

May-So to start off the month, Koz and I had our engagement pictures take by Goon and Britany took some too. It was a fun couple of days hanging out with our friends. Also, in May I turned 21 :-) And I even got to spend it with Koz for once. I was a happy girl, ha. Also, on my birthday my dad had a retirement dinner. He’s finally out of the prison and we’re so happy for him ;-) Ha, he’s keeping busy a little with teach and such now a days. Also, the day after my birthday Koz and Dan ran in the Chelsea Heart and Sole race. Koz won the two mile over all and Dan even won for his age group, um so proud of those boys. Also that afternoon, Koz and I went to the zoo with his family which was a lot of fun. He even got me a penguin, yeah don’t get to excited it was only a stuffed animal one sadly, ha. Well before Koz had to go back to Colorado to get ready for his deployment at the end of the month and I headed up north for Chad and Bridgette’s wedding. However, told the end of May I decided to go see Koz in Colorado right before he left for his deployment, even though the ticket cost a ton because I decided the end before I was going to leave. I got to meet some people in Colorado which was fun. I’m so glad I got to go and see him before he left for Afghanistan. Plus he was even nice enough to took me up in the mountains for my first time and Sonic when I wanted, ha. The best part though was that we got to spend some time together, which I’m very thankful since he left soon for along time. And besides he needed my help when it came to packing ;-) Well, Koz left for Afghanistan and I flew back home. Brit and I also decided to take a trip to Chicago to celebrate the beginning of summer and change.

June-I went up northing to spend some time with Sarah, Dan, and the boys. However, Sarah had got gull stones while I was up there so I stayed a little longer than I expected to help out with the boys. Also, the summer begin and skypeing with Michael Kozma begin once in a while begin too. To keep busy I went camping with the whole family for a long weekend, which the little kiddos loved. It’s cute seeing all the cousins playing together.

July-Well July began, and I spent another three weeks this summer at the Dahlem Center’s day camp :-) Also when to the Ann Arbor Art fair with my parents, Abbey, and Brit. I worked with fourth graders that summer and worked with another awesome teacher. The kids were pretty good kids for the most part and lots of memories from those weeks. I also babysitting for Don and Nicky began. Which was a blast to be able to hang out with my future niece and nephews, I love those kids. Also, some big news from that month, Koz told me he was going to be home on leave in November. So we decided to get married when he was home on his leave mid deployment because then it meant when he would be done with his deployment we could just move all out stuff to Colorado and I could start school in the fall. So, a lot of planning began for the wedding well on my part, Koz had it pretty easy if you ask me ;-)

August-August came and I still had the pleasure of babysitting for Don and Nicky. Also lots of time spent with the lovely Britany Miller, ha. We were roommates for a couple summer months, and August was a blast. Awesome time spend in our summer hangout my grandma’s house old house in Vandercook. Late nights of Pirates on Koz’s PS3, lots of tennis, meals made together, crazy rocking to our music from our computers that would fill the house while drinking mtn dew of course, and fun lazy evening at the lake after along day. We had a great summer. We also spent some time in Fairview, trips up north to work at the Relief sale was one of our favorite weekends that summer up north I think. Brit and I also took a road trip to Illinois with Oliver. I met some of Brit’s friends from Durley and we had a fun long weekend. Also, on the way back to Michigan we stop made a stop in Indiana for Rachelle and Luke’s wedding :-) Wedding number two for the summer, and I’m so glad I got to go to it. Oh I also went to Jamin and Jodi’s wedding, which marked as wedding number three. Their wedding was very pretty and simple, and Scottie even came home for it.Speaking of weddings, I think in August was when I found my own wedding dress. It was right off the rack and the prefect size and color, and I would only have to get it bustled in the back too. It was exciting, things were starting to fall together.

September-I went up north again to see my favorite little Asher dude for a special day for him. He turned 3 this year! My nephew is a big three old now, I can’t believe my little guy is growing up so fast. I was also at Barakel for Labor day family camp. However this year it was extra fun because the Bowman’s and Barney’s families were together again, just like old time. I had a wonderful time with Abbey like I always do and it was fun making more memories with her at Barakel. I also had more dress fittings and November was coming soon, however I think I was more excited because it meant Koz was coming home. Also, I think I found our barn after much searching :-) They were very flexible and helpful, which I was thankful everyone was being so flexible. Because we found out that we didn’t know when exactly Koz would be home so it was a little difficult planning a wedding date, ha.

October-A month before the wedding which meant my wedding shower began. I had lots of showers and received many present when I was very thankful for all the people that loved Koz and I. Also, I think either end of September or early October our invitations go mailed out :-) They looked awesome, thanks to that Jacob Roman’s help. Also, my family did pumpkins at Matthew and Amanda’s house, which were some awesome pumpkins this year. Well, it was two weeks before my wedding and my Grandma fell and broke her hip, which sent her to the hospital. She had surgery which went fine but after it was when things suddenly got worse. I was heartbroken and hurt a lot, because I was pretty close to my grandma. However, I had to be strong because Koz was coming home and the wedding was coming up fast.

November-November was a world wind. The first week there was a lot of planning for my grandma’s funeral and helping with everything that dealt with that. I felt like I was helping plan her funeral and last minute wedding things at night. It was along week. However, I was so excited Koz was coming home at the beginning of the month and our wedding was actually happening on the day we picked. It was so wonderful having him home, I missed him. On November 12th I married my best friend. Yeah I know it’s cheese when people say that but I really did. I love that man so much and the day prefect. No major mess ups and everything looked so beautiful. The barn was so pretty and things just seemed to fall into place with the help of my awesome friends and family. Koz and I also got to go on a short honeymoon to West Palm Beach which was a lot of fun. I loved being able to spend time just with my husband, and yes sleep next to him every night and knowing he was going to be right there next to me when I woke up and not in some country far far away. But yeah the weather was great and we had a week together before he had to leave for Afghanistan again. So yep, I’m Emily Kozma now, even though I think some of my friends will always call me Bowman, ha.

December-Well finally December came. My parents, myself, Sarah, and her little boys all flew to San Jose, California for my cousins wedding. Oh and before I went to Cali I got my hair cut kinda short which was a fun change. Anyways, back to California, their wedding was beautiful and kinda the typical city wedding, which was different then mine, ha. Asher was my date and he was quite the dancer, ha. We had a fun time in California though with trips to San Fansico during part of our vacation which was fun. I love visiting cities like that and definitely want to go back sometime again. Well, our trip ended just in time for Christmas. Christmas was interesting this year, Koz and my first Christmas as a married couple but ironically our first Christmas apart. We skyped while I opened my presents and he opened the ones I sent him in a box before I left for Cali. I spent Christmas morning after church with his and in the even had it with mine. Family is important to me and I’m so glad I got to spend it with both of mine, and I got some pretty awesome presents too ;-)
